About E Liquid & E Liquid Flavoring

E-liquids, what you need to know.

All electronic cigarettes use a vape juice called e-liquid, made up of 4 blended ingredients: Nicotine, Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerin (VG) and added Flavouring. This method is called Mixology.

We want to explain you exactly what these ingredients are and their main properties.

--- NICOTINE ---

Nicotine is flavourless, odourless and - although it can be highly addictive - researches have confirmed that it does not cause cancer. It’s a stimulant, just like the more common caffeine, and can be found in plants like tobacco leaves, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and many more.

We sell e-liquids with different nicotine strengths, even with zero nicotine at all. You’ll find that over time you’ll be able to decrease the concentration of nicotine naturally or switch to more powerful e-cigarette devices that allow you to significantly reduce the amount of nicotine inhaled while keeping the same vaping satisfaction.

Propylene Glycol is a colourless, tasteless, humectant and hygroscopic liquid. It’s well known for its bacteriostatic properties and is generally used as a food additive (codenamed E1520). The ATSDR (Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease) states on its website, propylene glycol is a 'Generally Recognized as Safe' (GRAS) additive for foods and medications. PG has been used as the aqueous-based chemical additive in asthma inhalers and nebulizers since the 1950s, with no serious side effects known.

It’s a carrier for flavours, used in many herbal preparations, and it has the power to enhance the throat hit of the Nicotine.

Together with PG, the Vegetable Glycerin is one of the main ingredients of e-liquids. It is a colourless, tasteless, humectant, hygroscopic and slightly sweet liquid. It’s a byproduct of the processing of plants, commonly used as a food additive (codenamed E422). As it’s derived from vegetable plant oils, it’s considered to be 100% natural and safe.

It is generally used in e-liquids as it produces more vapour than PG, so the combination of VG and PG can give you a satisfying vaping experience, with a sharp throat hit and a smooth vapour production.

Flavourings are used to give taste to e-liquids. They’re common food-grade additives, used in confectionery and food. We offer a wide array of flavours, from balsamic to tobacco, from sweet to fruity… there’re so many aromas to choose from, you’ll surely find the one that suits best your tastes!

…And now that you know exactly what e-liquids are made of and the properties of each ingredient, you can tailor the perfect juice for your e-cigarette, trying different combinations of PG and VG, changing the strength of Nicotine and mixing flavourings to reach the vape perfection. Happy vaping! :-)
